ALICE & STEPHENWe met Israeli folkdancing in Berkeley and married in 1990. Stephen's roots are in New York, Alice's in the Sacramento Valley. Both of us started out as academics (anthropology, classics) and went on to more practical fields (law, data management). We're now retired. Our two grandchildren, Stephen's daughter's kids, 8 and 10 at this writing, live in Boston. We're active in Congregation Netivot Shalom in Berkeley, where we've been members since 1994.
Stephen's strong interests these days include empathetic communication (Marshall Rosenberg et al.) and the science of mind; Alice never met a language she didn't like. We have too many books, but among the last things to go would be the 15 shelf feet of novels we've read aloud together over the past forty years |
